I was on pins and needles waiting for this book to arrive. It was ALL regurgitation. Yes, Karlie and other models have been inspired by Patti. Duh. Maybe I misunderstood, but I really thought there would be 1) more of Patti's own words, and 2) more undocumented photos. Great photos, but I've seen them before and the awesome photographers who took them deserve that credit. Nothing new here though...
Not that I dont appreciate photography but this is just a book of shoots from her modelling days.I thought was going to be more about her life story.A little disappointed.

I was so looking forward to buying this book for my sister as a Christmas gift. We were children of the 70's and remember Patti gracing the covers of our favorite magazines. I just printed out ta return label as this is such a boring book about a woman who has led such an interesting life. Furthermore, Patti and Keith are the ultimate in cool and have a cool family. It's cringeworthy that Karli Kloss, who married into the most uncool family, wrote the forward. There is nothing in the book from Patti herself so I wonder if she even sanctioned such a horrible portrayal of her life.
I would give this book 10 stars, if possible. The photos are amazing and beautifully reproduced. A great coffee table book. My mom was a model in the 60's and these great photography books always are on the top of my list . The people that bellyache because it's not a full on bio, need to get a grip...it's a book of wow factor photos, not a dissertation. Buy this, you won't be disappointed!
What I like about this book, is that it's many books in one. It captures a talented model at the height of her career, but it's also an art book, as the photography is brilliant, and curated with panache. It's also a window into the various epochs of American culture, with its implied ideals of beauty and aspiration.
